Community Impact
Lawunmi A Nwaiwu has personally supported the education and empowerment of women in Africa.
Lawunmi believes education is the key to lifting vulnerable and underserved communities out of poverty, and empowering people to reach their fullest potential.
In her efforts to improve women’s education, she helps to make a meaningful difference to the lives of women who face the challenges of gender inequality; teaching and helping women to learn new skills that could lead to them gaining employment and becoming more self-sufficient.
Gender Equality and Women & Youth Empowerment with Lifted Strong - Arusha, Tanzania
Hearing their stories was really touching, says Lawunmi. Girls' education is threatened by obstacles including child marriage, poverty etc.
When girls receive quality educations, they see the benefits in all aspects of their lives. We all have a duty to act and to ensure that every girl or woman is able to live a dignified and fulfilled life.
To support the project in ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education for all, especially girls and women, we were able to raise a some funds towards the cause.

Education Support in Africa - in partnership with Africa Educational Trust
Organised a family fun day event which raised an amazing £491.25 to support education in Africa. Those donations can support a school mother in South Sudan to counsel and mentor a school full of girls for a whole year, or they can be used to establish a community learning centre in Uganda which will provide early childhood education and teach adults to read and write!
